About MyFileTool

The web used to be simpler. You'd find a page that did one thing, it loaded fast, it worked, and you moved on. No account, no subscription, no popups, no tracking.

If you remember the web of the 90s, you know what I mean.

I miss that.

MyFileTool started on a weeknight when I needed to convert an iPhone photo and every tool I found was either buried in ads, wanted me to create an account, or tried to sell me a monthly plan. To resize a JPEG. I remember thinking: this should take five seconds, why is it this hard?

So I built something for myself. A simple page that did the conversion and nothing else. Then I needed another tool. Then another. At some point I realized, if I keep running into these problems, other people probably do too.

What it does

MyFileTool is a collection of small tools that each do one thing well. Convert a format, shrink a file, handle something weird your phone produced. The kind of tasks that take thirty seconds, like making an image small enough to upload or converting a format your computer won't open.

It works on desktop and mobile, loads fast, and stays out of your way. You upload a file, get the result, and move on with your day.

Pricing

Single file conversions are free, always.

Batch processing and heavier operations use more server resources. For those, there's a small one-time payment. No subscription. No recurring charges. No "we'll auto-renew you in 30 days." You pay once for the job, and that's it.

If a tool saves you real time, it helps keep the servers running. That's the whole model.

Your files

Files are processed automatically and deleted after use. No account required. Nothing is reviewed by humans, shared, or stored beyond what's needed to do the job. Encrypted connections, isolated processing, automatic cleanup. Nothing fancy, just done properly.

Where this is going

I'm one person building this. My longer-term goal is something like what VLC became for media. A simple, reliable place that handles a wide range of small everyday problems without noise, tracking, or unnecessary complexity.

If it's useful to you, that genuinely makes my day. Bookmark it, share it with a friend, or just come back next time you need it. That's how projects like this used to grow.
